A home inspection is a noninvasive visual examination of the accessible areas of a residence. It’s performed for the purpose of identifying defects within specific systems and components of the home. Buyers and sellers often order a home inspection before completing a real estate transaction.
A commercial inspection is similar to a home inspection. A building inspector collects information through visual observation as he does a walk-through survey of the property, its systems, and components. In both cases, the inspector identifies flaws, records repair price estimates, and compiles all the information in an online report (pdf available). Our certified, highly trained inspectors offer the most cost-effective suggested solutions to the identified problems.
Purchasing a home or commercial building is an important decision and will be one of the most expensive purchases you make in your life. We provide the facts and accurate information you need about the property to make an informed, wise decision. Our inspectors understand how to look deeper than a fresh coat of paint or recently completed remodels to be sure structural issues, leaks, mold, electrical, or other issues aren’t hiding under the surface.
Information is power. You can now make your best offer, ask for a price reduction or for repairs, or walk away from the deal altogether.
Buyers should make an offer contingent on an inspection and then schedule an inspection after their offer. A seller should schedule an inspection before listing the property so unexpected issues don’t derail the sale. Our team offers next-day inspection options to help you keep your real estate timeline on track.

At Trident Inspection Group, we hold our inspectors to the highest industry standards — because your peace of mind depends on it.
Every inspector on our team is a Certified Master Inspector® (CMI®) before they’re ever sent into the field on your behalf. This prestigious designation, recognized across North America, requires years of proven inspection experience, adherence to a strict Code of Ethics, and commitment to ongoing education. But that’s just the starting point.
In addition to being a CMI®, Trident inspectors also carry state-issued licenses through the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) or the California Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB). This includes one or more of the following credentials:
- General Contractor License (Class B) — giving our inspectors a deeper understanding of structural components and building systems.
- Branch 2 License (Pest Control) — required to identify and treat household pests.
- Branch 3 License (Termite/Wood-Destroying Organisms) — required for termite inspections and reporting in real estate transactions.
Even after meeting these rigorous state and national licensing standards, inspectors undergo a full additional year of internal training with Trident Inspection Group. During this time, they master our proprietary reporting standards, learn advanced presentation and client communication techniques, and shadow our senior team to ensure they can confidently handle even the most complex inspection scenarios.
This multi-layered certification process ensures that every Trident Inspection Group inspector delivers unmatched professionalism, precision, and clarity — and becomes a trusted member of your real estate or property maintenance team.
